The Mill at 100
In 2029, the Mill will celebrate its 100th birthday.
A century has almost passed since the decision was made to transform the Mill at Forest Green into a residential outdoor learning centre, creating a place that has gone on to shape generations of young people.
Over the decades, untold thousands have spent time at the Mill: pitching tents in its fields, exploring the surrounding countryside, cooking over campfires, building friendships, discovering independence, and making memories that stay with them long into adulthood.
The Mill holds a special place in many hearts. Its well-loved character is part of its charm, but after decades of constant use there are important repairs and improvements needed to protect and strengthen the site for the future.
What we are fundraising for.
To mark this milestone, we are launching a £100,000 centenary campaign to help carry the Mill into its second century in the strongest possible position.
Planned projects include:
A new secure storage facility for equipment and maintenance tools
Solar panels to improve sustainability and reduce long-term running costs
Improvements to accommodation and communal spaces
Investment in outdoor learning and environmental projects
Essential repairs to preserve the site for future generations
