Approaching 100 years of providing outdoor educational experiences in the wonderful Surrey countryside
We are delighted to welcome you to the new website for the Mill Trust, formally St Marylebone Camp of William Ellis School.
The Mill Trust is the steward of a special place, a historic watermill building set in ten acres of Surrey Hills woodland, meadow, pond and stream, which has been welcoming young people for nearly a hundred years.
We are a small charitable trust and we look after The Mill on behalf of the young people it exists to serve. Our core ambition is simple: to protect and develop this special place so that future generations can experience the freedom, challenge and adventure that only an environment like this can provide.
We share a strong vision with William Ellis School, and the many other schools and groups that use the Mill, about the importance of outdoors education. At the Mill thousands of young people have been given the opportunity to experience the wonderful English countryside. This helps build deeper connections and a sense of community and belonging with their peers and teachers.
We have built this website to create a place to celebrate the Mill, and to bring together our many friends and supporters as well as introduce our work at the Trust. In the pages that follow you can find out more about what The Mill means to the young people who visit, how you can use the site, and how you can support us as we approach our centenary in 2029.
Supporting the Mill
As the Mill approaches its 100th birthday in 2029 there is a wide range of projects needing completion to help ensure it goes into its second century of service in robust health.
From major projects to do with buildings through to smaller enrichment projects and resources there are many ways we are trying to fundraise to secure and enhance the future of the site.
